Foam Backed Adhesive Tape is built for assemblies where a soft, compressible layer is needed between two hard surfaces. It is not a solid Buna-N rubber strip and it is not pipe insulation wrap. The tape uses an NBR/PVC rubber foam carrier with a typical density range of 80-180 kg/m3, giving the backing enough softness to compress, recover, and keep better contact with uneven surfaces.

In real assembly work, this foam layer helps reduce minor impact marks, panel rattling, and small sealing gaps on metal housings, plastic covers, painted parts, powder-coated panels, and appliance components. The one-side adhesive coating is protected by a paper or PE film release liner, usually selected in the 80-120 gsm range for stable handling, slitting, and die-cut processing.

During application, the liner is removed and the tape is pressed onto a clean, dry surface. No liquid glue, curing time, or extra fastening is required. On stainless steel, typical reference peel adhesion can reach 8-15 N/25 mm, but final bonding still depends on surface energy, coating texture, pressure, dust, oil, and release agents. For ABS, PC, PVC, painted metal, stainless steel, or powder-coated parts, sample testing before volume assembly is a practical step.
