EPDM foam rubber density is a controlled material measurement, not a stand-alone promise of sealing or cushioning performance. For cellular EPDM supplied as plain foam, slit strip, adhesive-backed tape, or converted gasket material, the value is meaningful only when specimen definition, thickness condition, cell structure, and conditioning are known. If clean removal or a sensitive finish matters, removal behavior must be part of the trial rather than assumed from the tape type. Critical outdoor or unfamiliar substrates should be sample-tested before full use.
