The key decision is not simply adhesive strength: surface type, coating condition, panel weight, bond area, temperature, humidity, sunlight exposure, application pressure, and dwell all affect the result. Foam mounting tape is often evaluated for rigid panels with minor surface mismatch, while thin film-carrier tape can suit flatter, low-profile parts. If clean removal or a sensitive finish matters, removal behavior must be part of the trial rather than assumed from the tape type. Critical outdoor or unfamiliar substrates should be sample-tested before full use.
